Accessibility Statement

Last updated: August 2026

Careiverse is committed to ensuring our platform is accessible to everyone, regardless of ability or technology. We recognise that many of our users — including older adults, family carers, and people with disabilities — rely on accessible digital services.

1. Our Accessibility Standards

We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. This means:

  • All content is perceivable — text alternatives for images, captions where needed, and sufficient colour contrast
  • All functionality is operable — full keyboard navigation, no time-dependent interactions, and clear focus indicators
  • All content is understandable — clear language, consistent navigation, and helpful error messages
  • All content is robust — compatible with assistive technologies including screen readers, magnifiers, and voice control

2. What We've Done

  • All interactive elements (buttons, links, form fields) are fully keyboard accessible
  • Images and icons include descriptive alternative text
  • Colour contrast ratios meet or exceed WCAG AA requirements (4.5:1 for normal text, 3:1 for large text)
  • Forms include clear labels, instructions, and meaningful error messages
  • Page structure uses semantic HTML (headings, landmarks, lists) for screen reader navigation
  • The platform is responsive and usable on devices of all sizes
  • Focus is managed appropriately in modals, dropdowns, and dynamic content
  • Search results and property listings are structured for easy scanning with assistive technology

3. Known Limitations

We are aware of the following areas where accessibility may be limited:

  • Some third-party embedded content (maps, Trustpilot widgets) may not fully meet accessibility standards
  • PDF documents uploaded by care providers may not be fully accessible
  • Older property images uploaded before our current standards may lack detailed alt text

We are actively working to address these limitations and improve accessibility across the platform.

4. Assistive Technology Compatibility

Careiverse is designed to work with:

  • Screen readers (NVDA, JAWS, VoiceOver, TalkBack)
  • Screen magnification software
  • Voice recognition software (Dragon NaturallySpeaking)
  • Keyboard-only navigation
  • Browser zoom (up to 200% without loss of functionality)

5. Alternative Formats

If you need information in an alternative format (large print, easy read, audio), please contact us and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.

6. Feedback and Contact

If you experience any accessibility barriers when using Careiverse, or have suggestions for improvement, we want to hear from you:

We aim to respond to accessibility feedback within 5 working days.

7. Enforcement
